Joseph Wilson named JPUD GM
Joseph Wilson was named the next General Manager of Jefferson County PUD at the regular meeting of the PUD’s Board of Commissioners on July 15, 2025.

“I’m super grateful and humbled to be selected from the process,” Wilson said during the meeting. Wilson was unanimously selected after a 6-month-long national search performed by the National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) executive search team.
The PUD received more than 40 applicants and conducted multiple rounds of reviews. Wilson was selected from five final candidates who were interviewed over three consecutive days in late-June.
He assumes the GM position August 4th.
Wilson is currently employed as Deputy General Manager – Power Delivery at Tacoma Public Utilities and has more than 30 years of utility experience.
“In a leadership role, I am not delivering service directly, so my leadership team will be dedicated to creating the environment—the systems and structures—so our employees can deliver excellent services to our customers firsthand,” Wilson said.
Wilson received a degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Washington, and worked for Seattle City Light, Puget Sound Energy, Eugene Water and Electric Board, and Peninsula Light before beginning his tenure at Tacoma Power in 2010 as a System Planning Senior Power Division Supervisor.
Wilson replaces longtime PUD General Manager Kevin Streett, who began with the utility in 2012 as employee number one in the fledgling electric division acquired from PSE after a successful vote to pursue local ownership by the citizens of Jefferson County. Streett has offered to assist Wilson and the PUD with the transition of duties before beginning his retirement after 40+ years in the industry.
Wilson will lead the PUD’s 80+ employees and manage its $85 million-dollar annual budget, taking the helm at a busy time for the PUD, which has announced $70M in electric infrastructure upgrades to be completed over the next four years, and is currently 2 years into a 5-year, $55M rural broadband expansion. Additionally, Jefferson PUD will assume operating duties for the Hadlock Wastewater Treatment Plant in late-2025, and more than $10M in planned water system repairs and upgrades over the remainder of the decade.
Wilson said he looks forward to working with staff and the commission to deliver value to the PUDs customer-owners.
