If you pay your bill through your bank, you need to read this
As a result of your Jefferson County PUD’s recent billing system change ALL CUSTOMERS need to review their account information, identify their new account number, and review their payment process.
The customer account number you use to make a payment with your bank is critical to your payment getting posted to your account in a timely manner.
Please review this carefully:
- Your account number has changed – Old account numbers have a hyphen in the number, e.g., 012345-000. New account numbers have no hyphen, e.g., 012345000 and were designed for use in the new billing system.
- If you use your bank’s bill payment service, you must change to your new account number within that service for payments to process correctly.
- Checks received with the old numbers have to be processed manually. Each day we receive dozens of these checks and each day a customer service representative has to process them to make sure the payment goes through as quickly as possible.
Please help us spread the word that we need all customers to use their new customer numbers that were issued in November.
Thank you!
