Student Internship Program at the PUD

We’ve had a number of engineering students who gained practical skills in their internships that turned into jobs after graduation. But we’re accepting all kinds of students to work on a variety of tasks from hydrant maintenance to data entry, to website development, to filing, and assisting staking engineers on job sites. Rate of Pay: $14.00 per hour, not eligible for benefits
Job Type: Temporary, 2-3 month position
Hours: 30-40 hours per week
Job Closing Date: May 3, 2021
Temporary student positions within the utility are available during the 2021 summer months to provide interns with training opportunities while assisting the District with necessary work. One or more positions may be filled from this recruitment.
POSITION SUMMARY
Duties will vary depending upon business needs at the time and the candidate’s career interests. Applicants can expect to primarily work in and around an office setting, performing tasks associated with data entry, mapping, file organization, and other administrative tasks. Operational functions outside the office may be assigned; including but not limited to delivery and pick-up as well as visual verification of utility assets such as power poles, hydrants, or other utility items.
REQUIREMENTS
- High school diploma and current enrollment in pursuit of a college degree
- Ability to perform assigned tasks independently
- Basic computer skills
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Valid Washington State Driver’s License
- Candidates must live in Jefferson County PUD service territory
