Income Eligibility Expanded for Energy Efficiency Program

Every two years the Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) provides the PUD with just under $1M in energy efficiency rebates.

The rebates apply to items like heat pumps, insulation, windows, and heat pump water heaters; and help customers afford home improvements that reduce their electricity consumption while lowering bills.

Standard rebates only cover a portion of the cost, but rebates for income-qualified customers can cover half or more of purchase and installation. Because BPA has now expanded income eligibility to 80% of Area Median Income (AMI), more customers are now able to access these increased incentive amounts. See table to the right for the new income levels and rebate amounts.

Accessing the rebates is a two-step process. 1) Fill out an income eligibility form via our website or reach out to customer service [(360) 385-5800] for a paper copy. 2) Contact one of our participating installers (listed on our website: jeffpud.org/rebates) to get quotes on the project. Our participating contractors manage the rebate for you, discounting the project cost upfront.

For customers with items like windows and heat pump water heaters, if you can install the units yourself, the rebate should cover the entire cost.
