CUSTOMER ALERT – Dropbox stolen from PUD Office in Port Hadlock

Between December 4th and 7th, the dropbox at the PUD’s Administrative office in Port Hadlock was stolen.  Currently, there are no leads as to who is responsible for this crime. Any customer who dropped a payment in the PUD’s Port Hadlock dropbox between Friday December 4 and December 7 should call their bank and void the check they deposited.  Cash may not be what the thieves were looking for. Checking account information and the checks themselves may have been the target.  Therefore we urge customers that may have used this dropbox this last weekend to call their bank to void their check.

The PUD has continually been implementing tighter security measures to protect our customer’s financial information against fraud and theft. The PUD strives to offer the greatest convenience with the most appropriate level of security for its customers.  If anyone has any information regarding this theft, please contact the Jefferson County Sherriff’s office at 385-3831. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
