Providing new meters to all electrical customers greatly improves the PUD’s grid management capabilities. New meters allow for two-way communication between the utility and independent meters to aid in ON/OFF shutoff during emergencies, instantaneous outage tracking, and better incorporation of renewable energy sources, plus much, much more.
