A New Year: Jeff Randall
Greetings all.
2025 will be a transformative year for our utility with the hiring of a new general manager and continued work on important projects. Jefferson PUD is proof that through local control and ownership we can solve infrastructure problems in ways that best suit our local communities. This summer the tri-area sewer system, owned by Jefferson County and to be operated by the PUD, will come on-line. Jefferson PUD will also continue the fiber build-out providing high speed internet to homes and businesses in our electric territory. Soon, inadequate internet access in Jefferson County should be a thing of the past.
In 2025 our PUD will continue work to upgrade our electrical system to support the growing electrical loads in Jefferson County. This need became apparent in January of 2024 when record cold temperatures spiked electricity demand, stressing our electric system beyond what it was designed to handle. Moving forward, we will be planning needed improvements to our electrical system, including both upgrades and a new substation. This work will take significant time and money, but the PUD is dedicated to ensuring we have clean, reliable power to meet our residential, commercial, and transportation needs well into the future.
