SUMMARY:Quilcene Fair and Parade
DESCRIPTION:JPUD was awarded state and federal funding to build over 200 miles of 10 gigabit fiber internet to more than 1200 homes along the eastern edge of the Olympic National Forest from Mt Walker to Gardiner and Chimacum. We’ll be celebrating our progress to date (mainline fiber construction is almost complete!) and discussing next steps (service installation inside the home). We’ll have a broadband demonstration booth setup at the fair and we’ll have some BBQ and Ice Cream sandwiches to share. DESCRIPTION:Join the PUD for a deep dive discussion of long-duration outage response by local responders on April 27th from 2-4pm at The Beach Club in Port Ludlow. \nThe discussion centers around a hypothetical catastrophic weather scenario: \n\nIce storm with wind gusting to 100mph\nBelow freezing temperatures\nTress down and impassable roads\nHood Canal Bridge heavily damaged\nPower out with estimated restoration of 7-10 days\nCell service is intermittent/down\nWater systems are damaged\n\nThis hypothetical scenario is a great chance to hear first-hand from local resources from our region and ask questions!
