PUD Seeks Appointee to Fill District 1 Position

The PUD Board of Commissioners is accepting applications from qualified citizens for the position of PUD District #1 Commissioner.  The appointed PUD Commissioner will have to meet conditions of RCW 54.12.010 (a registered voter who resides in district #1).  This appointed position will serve from date of appointment until the November election in 2010. 

The PUD is a municipal corporation authorized under RCW 54 for the purpose of conserving the water and power resources of the State of Washington for the benefit of the people thereof, and to supply public utility service, including water and electricity for all uses. In addition to the normal duties of providing public water (3500 connections) and sewer (200 connections) utility services the PUD is actively pursuing the acquisition of PSE’s power facilities in Jefferson County and is heavily involved with regional water resource conservation and management.  

Commissioner benefits are listed in RCW 54.12.080 and include a monthly salary of $1,000 dollars, per diem at a rate of $90 dollars per meeting, and medical coverage.  The PUD Boards has regularly scheduled Board meetings on the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s of each month.  Special meetings are called as needed.

PUD is staffed with 9 full time employees, and has an annual budget of over $2 million dollars.
